Privacy Policy

FeeBook is a fee tracking app for tuition teachers in India, run by Chaitanya Assudani in Bengaluru, Karnataka ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.

Information we collect

From tutors who sign up:

• Your email address and password (the password is stored securely by our login provider; we never see it).
• Your name, whether you are an independent tutor or a tuition centre, and your UPI ID if you choose to add it.
• Your FeeBook subscription status, and payment screenshots you upload when paying for FeeBook.

Information you add about your students:

• Student names, parent names, parent WhatsApp numbers, subjects, batches, fees and joining dates.
• Fee payments you record and reminders you send.

When a parent opens a payment link, we show them only your name and UPI ID. We do not collect any information from parents on that page, and the payment itself happens in their UPI app, not on FeeBook.

Parents looking for a tutor. Parents can search for tutors without an account. If they use "Request a tutor", we store their name, WhatsApp number and what they asked for (school or area, class, subject, budget and an optional note), only after they agree. We show the request to tutors on FeeBook whose subjects and classes match, so those tutors can contact them on WhatsApp. Requests are deleted after 90 days.

Enquiries. When a parent enquires from a tutor's page, we store their name, WhatsApp number and the details they enter, only after they agree, and show them only to that tutor. Enquiries are deleted 6 months after the tutor closes them, and in any case after 12 months.

Page views. To show tutors how many people viewed their page, the browser keeps a random ID. We store only a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of it for two days, and only daily totals after that. We never store IP addresses for this.

Reviews. A tutor can send a parent of a paying student a private review link. The review (rating, tags and text) is shown on the tutor's page without the parent's or child's name. The parent can edit or delete it for 30 days. We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of the link. Reviews with phone numbers or links, or that are reported several times, are checked by FeeBook before they appear.

How we use it

• To run FeeBook for you: show your dashboard, prepare reminder and receipt messages, and track fees.
• To manage your subscription and verify payments you make to us.
• To contact you about your account, for example about a payment or a problem.

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your students' or parents' information for anything other than running FeeBook for you.

WhatsApp messages

FeeBook does not send messages itself. When you tap "Remind" or "Send receipt", FeeBook opens WhatsApp on your phone with a prepared message, and you choose whether to send it. Those messages are then governed by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.

Your responsibility for student and parent information

You decide what student and parent information to add. Please only add details of families you actually teach, and only use them to communicate about fees and tuition.

Parent consent. Before adding a student, you must have the parent's agreement to keep their details in FeeBook, and you record how they agreed (in person, in writing or on WhatsApp). When adding many students at once, you confirm this for the whole list. FeeBook records the date you recorded consent.

Public numbers. Your public page can show the schools and areas your students come from and how long students stay with you. Only students whose parents separately agreed to this are counted, names are never shown, and a school or area appears only when two or more such students share it.

Who processes the data

We use trusted service providers to host the app and store data securely (cloud hosting and database services), and an email service to notify us about subscription payments. They process data only to provide those services to us.

How we protect it

• Each tutor's data is separated at the database level, so one tutor can never see another tutor's students.
• All connections are encrypted (HTTPS).
• Payment screenshots are stored privately and are visible only to you and to us.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists, including after a subscription ends, so nothing is lost if you come back. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and all student, payment and reminder records within 30 days, except anything we must keep by law.

Tutors can permanently delete a student at any time, even after their plan ends. This removes the student's details, fees and reminders. FeeBook keeps only an anonymous list of the months that student was paid for (no name, phone number or other details), so that public retention numbers stay honest.

Your choices

• You can view, edit, and correct your information in the app at any time.
• You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to delete your account and all its data.
• Parents who want their details removed can ask their tutor to delete them, or contact us directly.
• Parents can withdraw agreement to being counted in public numbers at any time by asking their tutor.

Children

FeeBook is meant for tutors, who must be 18 or older. Student names are entered by tutors and are used only to track fees. Students and parents do not create accounts.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
